(Thinking Maps and Leadership)

  1. Your Performance Exam will be on Thinking Maps and your Semester Exam will be on Leadership. What measures will you take to prepare and with lessons learned, how have your leadership skills been enhanced?

  2. When i first signed up for JROTC my leadership skills were weak, now i have the ability to take controle of others and do better work. For the performance final i am going to study as much as i can and start study groups with my fellow cadets to help them and get them ready for the test. For the semester testing i will prepare by using all of the skill sets and knowledge i have obtained this year to help me pass.

  3. When I first entered JROTC my leadership skills were at a novice level. Although as time progressed so did my leadership skills. For my semester exam I am going to study all the lessons that we covered and go through and review all the key points.

  5. I will review the maps right down the ones i know by memory and use them more frequently to have some sort of practice of using them knowing how to use them and knowing what there used for and making extra time to study for my exams.

  6. Before joining the JROTC program I thought my leadership skills were rather average. I knew I acquired some leadership skills, but I also knew I had much to learn. As time progressed I began to see myself as more of a leader, as less as a follower. I began to get promotions that required more leadership skills, so instead of continuing to be quiet in class I started to show off my true leadership skills. To prepare for the semester exam I will study the thinking maps. I will even try and use them in regular classes so I can grow more acquainted with them.

  7. when i first signed up in JROTC, i had leadership skills experience, but as a beginner. though in this class, i was able to set down orders and help others achieve their goals. my leaderships skills enhanced over time, from first only controlling my own squad, to now being able to control and lead a platoon.

  8. Now, i will be able to study for the tests by using real life examples within the classroom and by reviewing over what we have previously learned in the beginning of the year.

  9. When I signed up for JROTC my leadership skills were weak, and I was not the first one to do anything and just did what I was told but now I am willing to do what is needed especially as an S3 candidate. My promotions required more and more leadership and will do my part and try and exceed the requirements. For the performance final I will review all of the thinking maps and use real time examples. I will also review how and when to use the correct Thinking Map.

  11. i feel like my leadership skills were very weak before JROTC, i couldnt take charge, and i most of the time didnt have enough courage to stand up and take charge. but now, as a Platoon Sergeant, me and my Platoon Leader have to take charge of the platoon.

  12. I prepared for the exams by reviewing the maps from my notes that I took throughout the first semester. I also studied with my brother and he quizzed me on most of the thinking maps. For the leadership portion, I again studied by using my JROTC notebook. Over the past few months, I've learned a lot about the JROTC and it's helped me with struggles in and out of school. I've become a much better listener and I've begun using new study habits.
